When people pray to the Mother of God “Pochaevskaya”, they ask for protection from internecine conflict or enemy invasion, for healing blindness, both bodily and spiritual, for release from captivity.
The celebration in honor of the Pochaev Icon of the Mother of God on July 23 was established in memory of the deliverance of the Dormition Pochaev Lavra from the Turkish siege in 1675.
